Frame Construction – Anchor uses .10" aluminum extrusion in its awnings. Our awning frames are extremely strong and are much more durable than steel and the .0625" aluminum used by other awning manufacturers. The joints are welded and ground down to eliminate any sharp edges that could tear the fabric.
Fabric – Anchor will use any type of fabric that is requested by the customer. Fabric warranties currently range anywhere from five to eight years. Depending on the particular application of the project and your personal tastes, we can recommend a fabric for your awning.
Attachment of Fabric – Anchor uses a patented staple-in system for attaching fabric to the awning frame. The fabric is stretched onto the frame and then stapled into the staple-groove of the extrusion. PVC trim is then installed into the staple groove, concealing the staples and providing a sharp, clean appearance. The staple-in method results in the fabric fitting tighter on the frame. This not only looks better, but also prohibits the wind for buffeting the fabric against the frame, prolonging the life of the fabric.
Graphics – Anchor use a number of different methods for application of graphics. For backlit awnings, we remove the color where there will be graphics, This allows the eradicated letter and/or graphics to illuminate when backlit. For graphics on acrylic fabrics such as Sunbrella, we can either paint or use a heat transfer of vinyl graphics. Both methods result in a clean professional appearance.
Lighting – Anchor installs double-lamp high output fixtures with daylight lamps into all of our backlit awnings. The daylight lamps are much brighter than cool white lamps used by other manufacturers, making sure that your awning atracts attention.
Artwork Requirements – If the awning we are building for you contains graphics we will need clean artwork from you. We use Adobe Illustrator for our art drawing programs. Accordingly, we would like the artwork to be Adobe Illustrator (.ai), if possible. This will help us decorate your awning correctly and quickly. Our computers are IBM compatible. Other acceptable formats include .jpeg & .tiff, but .ai is preferred.
